For as long as I can remember, collecting sports memorabilia has been more than a hobby. It has been a connection to the players, teams, seasons, moments, and memories that make sports so meaningful. A signed jersey is not just fabric. A graded rookie card is not just cardboard in a slab. A game-used item is not just an object. Every piece has a story, a reason it was added, and a place in the larger collection.

I have been collecting sports memorabilia for 30 years, and over that time, one problem kept showing up again and again: it was far too difficult to keep track of everything properly.

Like many collectors, I tried different systems. Spreadsheets. Photos on my phone. Notes. Folders. Email receipts. Grading certificates saved in one place, purchase details somewhere else, estimated values checked manually, and storage locations tracked mostly by memory.

It worked — until it didn't.

As a collection grows, the old way starts to break down. You forget what you paid. You lose track of where something is stored. You have authentication paperwork separated from the item. You check market prices in one place, record values in another, and hope you can piece everything together later.

That frustration is what led to Relic Roster.

Why I Built Relic Roster

Relic Roster was created from a simple belief:

Serious collectors deserve better tools.

Collectors put real time, money, and care into building their collections. Yet many of us still manage those collections with systems that were never designed for the hobby.

Relic Roster is my answer to that problem.

It is a platform built specifically for sports card and memorabilia collectors who want one trusted place to catalog, value, document, and protect what they own. The goal is not simply to create another card scanner. The goal is to build a complete digital record for your collection — a system that understands cards, autographs, jerseys, graded slabs, certificates, provenance, storage, photos, notes, and value tracking.

Your collection deserves more than a spreadsheet.

It deserves a proper home.

What Relic Roster Is Today

Relic Roster is built to help collectors organize the items that matter most to them.

You can add cards, memorabilia, autographs, jerseys, photos, equipment, and other sports collectibles into a structured digital collection. Each item can include key details like player, team, year, category, condition, purchase price, estimated value, grading information, authentication records, storage location, photos, and notes.

The goal is simple: help you know what you own, what it may be worth, where it is stored, and what documentation is attached to it.

That matters for everyday organization. It matters when tracking value. It matters when buying, selling, insuring, sharing, or passing down a collection. And it matters because many collectibles are not just financial assets — they are personal ones.

Built for Cards and Memorabilia

A lot of tools in the hobby focus mainly on trading cards. Cards are important, and Relic Roster supports them, but many collectors own much more than cards.

Signed jerseys. Framed photos. Game-used equipment. Autographed balls. Tickets. Programs. Helmets. Custom pieces. One-of-one items. Pieces with stories that do not fit neatly into a card-only app.

Relic Roster is being built with that broader collector in mind.

The future of collection management should not force memorabilia into a card-shaped box. A serious collection needs room for the full story behind each item — including authentication, provenance, purchase history, storage, and supporting documentation.

That is a major part of the vision.

AI Can Help, But Collectors Stay in Control

One of the exciting parts of Relic Roster is the ability to use AI to help speed up item entry. Scanning or uploading an item can help identify details and reduce some of the manual work involved in building a collection record.

But I want to be clear about something from the start: AI is an assistant, not the authority.

Collectors should always be able to verify, edit, override, and refine their records. No serious platform should pretend AI is perfect, especially in a hobby where condition, variation, authentication, signatures, editions, and provenance matter so much.

Relic Roster will continue improving its AI-assisted features, but the collector remains in control of the final record.

Where Relic Roster Is Going

This launch is only the beginning.

The long-term goal is to make Relic Roster the trusted digital vault for serious sports collectors — a place where your collection becomes easier to manage, easier to understand, and easier to protect over time.

Some of the areas I am excited to continue building include:

• Stronger support for authentication and provenance records

• More advanced filtering, tagging, and organization
• Better tools for graded cards and memorabilia

The platform will keep evolving based on real collector feedback. That is important to me. Relic Roster is not being built in isolation. It is being built for collectors, with collectors, and shaped by the way people actually manage their collections.

A Living Platform for a Living Collection

A collection is never really finished.

There is always another card, another jersey, another autograph, another piece that means something. Values change. Items move. New documentation gets added. Stories become more important over time.

Relic Roster is designed around that reality.

It is not just a place to enter items once and forget about them. It is meant to become part of the ongoing rhythm of collecting — adding new pieces, updating records, checking values, improving documentation, and building a stronger picture of everything you own.
